A New Addition to the Hyco Wireless Smart System: the TRV (Thermostat Radiator Valve)
The Hyco wireless Smart system just got smarter with its newest addition: the thermostat radiator valve (TRV). The TRV expands the Hyco Smart product line,which currently includes the 230V smart control unit (CU), wireless thermostat room units (RU), and mobile application. While Hyco was created as a control system for hydronic underfloor heating and cooling, the TRV now makes it possible to also integrate wall-mounted radiators that use water circulation, creating a single intuitive system for properties that use both heating methods.
This integration is especially valuable across Europe, where many residential properties rely on mixed heating systems. For example, in many standalone houses a common setup is underfloor heating on the ground floor combined with radiators upstairs. Traditionally, radiator valves can only be adjusted on the radiator which are often inaccessible, have no automatic regulation due to lack of or unreliable ambient temperature readings and lack connectivity to other systems for coordinated control.

Automatic regulation, remote control & a unified app experience
Asa fully integrated part of the Hyco Smart system, the TRV can be controlledthrough the same mobile application that manages underfloor heating. The applicationprovides a full range of features at the user’s fingertips, including remote control, setpoint limits, scheduling, thermostat zoning, and other advanced settings. Like the underfloor heating system, the TRV’s temperature setpoint can also be adjusted via a room unit, while an analogue rotary knob on the valve provides a simple option for direct manual adjustment.
Comfort through Accurate Measurement
The Hyco Smart system uses wireless room units to measure room temperature, delivering more accurate readings than standalone radiator valves that rely on a built-in sensor placed next to the radiator inlet. With the TRV, the valve position is adjusted according to these accurate room readings gathered from the centrally located room units, ensuring heating aligns with the real conditions in the space.
Integration with Building Management Systems
The Hyco Smart product line has been designed to integrate seamlessly with building automation systems via ModbusRS-485 — and the TRV is no exception. This ensures that, alongside underfloor heating, radiators can now be managed as part of a complete, connected solution. For larger residential properties and rental complexes, this means property managers can set and adjust temperatures remotely across multiple apartments, monitor performance in real time, and optimize energy use — all while guaranteeing consistent comfort for residents, with the added possibility of individual monitoring. With this level of centralized control, the Smart TRV strengthens the Hyco system, making it an even more versatile and convenient solution.
